    Course Content

    Tool Overview – Selection & Isolation

    1. Intro to Image Editing Tools
    Demo the following Photoshop features:

    Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast

    Hue/Saturation – show how to change overall tone or specific colors

    Color Balance – shifting tones in shadows, midtones, highlights

    Auto Tone / Auto Contrast – quick fixes

    Project Demo: Food Photo Correction
    • Walk through:

      • Adjusting brightness and contrast to make it pop

      • Enhancing or reducing saturation

      • Slightly shifting color tone for mood

    Optional: Add a subtle vignette or overlay to increase focus

    Hands-On Project

    Student Task: Pick a photo (or use teacher-provided food image) and do full image correction:

    • Adjust brightness and contrast

    • Use Hue/Saturation to enhance specific colors (e.g., greens in a salad, red in fruit)

    • Add Color Balance for warmth or coolness

    • Add a caption or label if time allows
    Homework
    1. Upload Before and After JPGs to shared folder
    2. Submit a short answer:
      • “What does ‘editing’ mean to you as a designer or artist?”
      • “How can it be helpful? How can it be misused?”
