Scripture

Proverbs 27:17 (HCSB) – “Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens another.”

This verse reminds us that growth happens when we challenge and refine one another. Just like iron becomes sharper through friction, our skills improve when others help us see what we cannot see on our own.

Constructive feedback is important in creative work because designers often get too close to their own ideas. Another perspective can reveal unclear text, awkward spacing, weak contrast, or confusing layout choices. Feedback is not about criticism. It is about improvement.

Helpful feedback focuses on the work, not the person. Instead of saying, “This looks bad,” we say, “The text is hard to read because the contrast is low.” Instead of tearing down, we point out a strength and then suggest one clear improvement. Encouragement plus honesty creates growth.

When we give feedback with respect and receive it with humility, everyone becomes stronger designers.
