Each student presents 1 of their theme ideas from last week. Encourage them to describe:
- The name of the theme

Use sticky notes or tally marks to vote on the top 1–2 favorites to finalize by Week 3.

- Each student creates a subfolder labeled with their name and role
- Start assigning placeholder pages or sections (subject to change)
EXTRA TIME: Take Team Photos
- Show students a sample yearbook ladder
A yearbook ladder is a page-by-page planning tool that serves as a blueprint for a yearbook, helping staff organize content, assign tasks, track deadlines, and ensure all aspects of the school year are covered. It visualizes the yearbook’s structure by breaking it down into sections like student life, academics, sports, and people. Staff can use traditional paper diagrams, whiteboards, or digital software to create and update the ladder, making it a crucial checklist for completing the book and creating a cohesive publication. - Explain that each “spread” represents 2 pages
- Begin sketching a rough draft of this year’s ladder (teacher-led, with student input)
📝 This draft will evolve over time as events occur and pages are filled in.
Due Next Week:
- Bring in (or upload) 3 example yearbook spreads or layouts that you like.
- Start taking 5 candid photos around co-op that could be used for any section.
- Interview 1 person this week (staff, student, tutor) — bring their name, one photo, and a favorite quote or something interesting they said.
- Upload all work to your team folder.
