Scripture
Proverbs 16:24 (HCSB) – “Pleasant words are a honeycomb: sweet to the taste and health to the body.”
Simple design can absolutely make a strong impact. In fact, simplicity often makes the message clearer and stronger. Just text, when it is chosen carefully and placed well, lets the words breathe. There is nothing distracting from the truth being shared. Think about how powerful Scripture on a plain background can be. Clean typography, good spacing, and a focused message help people stop, read, and feel what is being said. Simple design says, “This matters. Pay attention.”
So when words are rooted in truth and love, and the design is clear and uncluttered, they work together. The message becomes easier to receive, remember, and carry forward. Just like honey, it goes in gently but leaves a lasting sweetness.

Mini Lesson – Typography as Art
- Fonts are more than letters—they communicate mood and voice
- Bold, thoughtful typography can be just as impactful as a photo
- Introduce:
Font Pairing (Serif + Sans-Serif)
Pairing fonts creates balance and interest. A serif font (with little feet) often feels classic, trustworthy, and traditional. A sans-serif font (clean and modern) feels simple and fresh. Use one for headlines and one for body text so the design feels organized and professional.Hierarchy (What Grabs Attention First)
Hierarchy is about guiding the reader’s eyes. The most important words should be the biggest or boldest. Then the supporting text is smaller. This helps people know what to read first, second, and last without thinking about it.Alignment and Spacing for Clean Design
Alignment keeps everything looking orderly. Left-aligned, centered, or grid-based layouts help the eye move smoothly. Spacing gives your text room to breathe. When things are too close together, it feels cluttered. When there is space, it feels calm and readable.Contrast (Size, Weight, Color)
Contrast creates focus. You can use big vs small text, bold vs thin, dark vs light colors. Contrast tells the viewer, “This part matters most.” Without contrast, everything looks the same and nothing stands out.Together, these tools help turn simple text into strong visual communication. Typography is not just decoration. It is how your message speaks before anyone even reads it.
